Scott Kuykendall IIFavorite lesson: Chow Mein Masterclass
I've dabbled in Chinese cooking over the years, but never really explored anything other than basic stir frys and other standard American recipes.
Then I discovered your YouTube channel and it was like the scales fell from my eyes. There are SO MANY different new "things" to cook, like char siu and congee, as well as chow mein, which is completely different from any chow mein I've ever had in my life... which I absolutely love. Significant, especially because I usually hate pasta.
There are so many other things besides recipes that are part of the Cooking Club... knife techniques has been my favorite so far, but I'm not all the way through it.
I have to admit though that half the reason I joined is that I believe in the higher purpose of ypur project... to (re)connect with Daddy Lau through food, to document his knowledge, and to enjoy the time you have with him. I lost my Dad earlier this year, and I would give almost anything to go back in time, make him some real chow mein, and just talk about things. I'm so glad you recognized the opportunity and are taking advantage of it.
